is there a blood test or do they have to test each mole via biopsy?

I’m due to get biopsy on face mole in couple of days, cumulating in removal at same time. My mole is fairly small on the surface but deep in the skin. Is there anyone that has had similar that can offer depth of scar etc., many thks
