I have an appointment tomorrow to get checked for skin cancer because my my regular doctor thought that I should get some suspicious moles checked out. Can someone who has ever gotten checked out for this kinda thing please tell what to expect? What will they do?

It usually takes anywhere from a few weeks to a year, yes a YEAR, to get an appointment to have a mole removed and tested for cancer, when really, the second the doctor has determined it looks strange, it should be tested immediately.

I find all of this very odd.
I live in Canada

Ok, well I have had a mole on my hairline for as long as I can remember. Its darker in color and is a little bigger than a pencil eraser. Ive always wore my hair down so my Dr hasn’t noticed this one. It doesnt bother me other than the fact that it is ugly lol. I also have several large moles on my back. They are also bigger than pencil erasers and are raised and they itch a lot of the time. They don’t cause pain. I told the Dr about these and she looked but said its probably nothing and I had an appointment to have them cut off but I chickened out and never showed up. I was just fixing my hair for work and I noticed 2 new moles on my scalp. They are large and dark brown and close together, They are not raised though. All of these are perfect circles. The only reason Im freaking out is because 2 years ago while on vacation with my hubby we went tubing in TN and we were out for way too long, the sunscreen wore off and I got so sunburned that I had to be hospitalized. My grandfather has had skin cancer removed from his body 3 times in the past couple of years and has had to go through treatments. Should I worry about these moles or is it normal for them to just appear like this? Also Im 22/f if that would make a difference

I have about 40 true moles (most are less than a 1/4 in. except a couple that are a little larger, but still less than 1/2 in.). I have a few freckles too on my arms. What is the likely hood that I might have skin cancer?

I am fair skinned, Caucasian, and many moles run in my family but no history of skin cancer/melanomas; I rarely go out in the sun and have only burnt myself once by the sun.

Please let me know. I am freaking out about this. I have a mole removal appointment in a couple of days. Thanks.

Yesterday I noticed a new (very very tiny) little bump on my arm. I can’t remember anymore if it was brown or red. either way I ignored it, because I get new little moles all the time. So today I accidentally brushed my fingers over it and it began bleeding VERY quickly. Within just a second or two it was already bubbled up and dripping down my arm. It continued like this for over a half an hour until i finally got it to stop. I’ve already made an appointment with my regular dermatologist for tomorrow morning, but I’m still really nervous right now. Does this seem likely to be cancer? or could it be something less serious? please let me know, I’m extremely nervous now and I stress out easily…
why can’t anyone give me a serious and HELPFUL answer? the first person just wanted to know about baby oil and tanning and the second one sounds oddly like one of my dad’s rants. SOMEONE ELSE PLEASE HELP ME OUT ON THIS ONE… :(
