Apply cotton to it until it stops bleeding with a little pressure. See a doctor as soon as possible– bleeding moles can be a sign of skin cancers or melanomas.
Stop picking at it for one thing. Then go see your doctor. Moles have a funny way of turning malignant when they start changing or get picked at.
Wash it with warm soap and water and put a little neosporin or antibiotic cream on it. If it’s from being scratched off keep this up until it’s healed. If it’s just suddenly bleeding, then make an appointment with a dermatologist and have it checked.
If its a mole (as in a skin blemish)…apply direct pressure using something sterile (like a gauze pad). Don’t remove it for at least a few minutes, allow it time to clot. If the pad becomes too blood soaked, just add another. You don’t want to break any clot thats forming.
If the bleeding is profuse and lasts more than 5-10 minutes, seek medical attention.
Then see a doctor soon (not when it starts bleeding again) to get it looked at.
If its a mole, as in the animal…direct pressure will work too. ;0)
See a doctor immediately. Any changes in the appearance of a mole can be a sign of skin cancer (which is usually very treatable if caught early, so DO NOT WAIT!)
The doctor can do a virtually painless biopsy, and then you will know for sure. It’s worth it, because if it is melanoma, and is left untreated, it can spread and become VERY serious.
I have a mole that bleeds, too. It means that something is "changing" with the mole & your SUPPOSE TO go to a dermatologist to have the mole looked at (I haven’t done that yet). Anytime a mole changes is a bad sign, which is why your suppose to go. Other than that, just try to not pick the scab & it will eventually stop, or at least mine did. It’s not that I am not concerned about my bleeding mole, its just that I’m lazy, so don’t follow my behavior!
Bleeding on it’s own or did you do something to get it bleeding? That’s important…. ’cause if it started to do it on it’s own…. you need to call your Dr and get into his office right away. A bleeding mole can be a sign of cancer….. If you just scratched it or picked at it…. then STOP doing that! You’ll end up causing a serious problem for yourself and end up with an infection or something!
