Have you ever had a body mole removed?
Have you had a mole removed before? If so- 1.) does it hurt?
2.) do they inject the mole with something to numb it and does that part hurt? 3.) what was your experience with getting the mole removed?
I have a mole on my back that I have despised for as long as I can remember. I don’t have health insurance at the moment, so I can’t get it removed without paying a lot of money. I know insurance typically won’t pay for mole removal unless the mole is painful, itchy and what not to the person. (But that’s why you say it is, so your insurance will pay for it). Anyway, just want people’s opinions on mole removal and what it’s like.

Many doctors are leery of removing benign moles, since it is considered a cosmetic procedure and does have some risks.
On the other hand, if it bothers you mechanically (like in your armpit) or looks at all suspicious, this would be a reason to consider removing it.
The very simplest way of removing a small to medium sized mole is to inject the skin under it with local anesthetic. This both numbs the skin and causes it to bubble up temporarily, which makes it easy and painless to cut it off with a scalpel.
Other methods, such as freezing or cautery are possible, but this is the old tried-and-true.

But I had something similar.
What they did to me was the covered the whole area with the cream then they let it sit there for like 30 minutes. Then they had the machine laser thing that produced electricty towards the spots. It really hurt those.
I have had a mole on my chest and my neck removed. I was injected with a local and the doctor cut them out. Did not hurt a bit.

The first I had removed was on my lower back, the second was in my arm pit and the third was on my cheek near my ear.
They inject it to numb it, relax your muscles otherwise it does hurt, don’t look at the needle, pay attention to something else that will calm you down.
When it’s numbed properly they will shave it off like you would shave your legs or something, you won’t even feel it.
Anyway, my moles were itchy, try not to scratch and don’t lie too much!
That’s my two cents, spend it wisely.
To tell you the truth, if the mole has been with you your whole life, you shouldn’t get it removed. Unless you are getting the procedure done for cosmetic reasons, you don’t have to be in any kind of hurry. Moles that exist since birth are harmless. It is moles that develop from the sun and environment that you should be worried. Maybe weight until you get insurance and then consider getting rid of it. But don’t worry about it at the moment.

i had a fairly large one removed from my back just about in the bra strap area. The doc. burned it off. He deadened it with shots and when he was actually burning it off I didnt feel a thing .the medicine from the shot burned worse than anything but I am so glad that thing is gone I would go through it all over again.. then he just put a bandaid on it and that was it.
I had a mole removed they didn’t inject my mole but the skin around it and then they cut it out and used a dissolving stitch it was on my back as well. It didn’t hurt our bother me but now i have a scar and i wish i would have the mole instead of a scar. But the reason i removed it because the doctors got suspicious of it but it was safe and all is well except for the scar.
Why yes I had several removed one on the bridge of my nose one on my forearm and one on my thigh.
They topically numbed it and the gave me an injection on 2 of the three because they were very deeply rooted.
there were some scars but we are talking several years ago. Maybe they have made some advancements since then. It was a combination of a very sharp razor and a thing that sort of looked like a potato peeler. only a slight discomfort. Hope that helps
I have had a mole surgically removed from my back. It had started to itch and get dry and so I also had it tested for cancer.
The shot to numb the area did not hurt. It felt more like a little pinch. The cutting and stitching were unnoticeable due to the anesthetic.
A few hours later, it began to hurt a little, but it was never generally too awful. The only time it really hurt was when I would move in such a way that it pulled on the stitches. I learned very quickly what movements not to make.
I couldn’t get it wet for a week. That was the biggest problem. I washed up in the bath tub with just a little water in the bottom of the tub.
When the stitches were removed, it was a little uncomfortable. I could feel the doctor pulling them out. Then he put on a bandage that I was to keep for another week and I could not get that wet either.
When I took that off, the scar was fairly bright red. This has faded over time. I put vitamin E oil on it for about two weeks, every day, after the second bandage came off.
After a couple of years now, it is barely noticeable.
