what does a melanoma or skin cancer mole look like? Is there a good chance of survival if you get it treated soon enough. How much time do you have to act? Just because the mole might be irregular does it necessarily mean melanoma? How big are they? Thanks.

A co-worker of mine was diagnosed last week with melanoma. Three on her back and one on her face. I don’t know the details as to how long its been since she’s seen a dermatologist but I’ve never heard of being diagnosed with four at the same time. Does that mean that one of them has spread which caused the formation of the others?

I have a lot of moles and most of them all of my life. I have fair skin and would be susceptible to melanoma. But what I’ve never been able to find out, does it start with a mole that has always been there or does the mole show up later in life and turn into melanoma? I have no suspicious moles, I was just wondering. thanks

okay, lately ive been reading all the teen magazines, like 17, glamor and cosmo. and they are all scaring my sh**less about melanoma. what worries me most is that i never really payed attention to my "mole" until i read this magazine. and it said asymmetrical borders which is just killing me because i seem to have like this small mole on my stomach but i never remembered it being exactly round or symmetrical throughout my life. and its freaking me out, it doesn’t look super asymmetrical just not perfectly round, and i really don’t no if it could be malenoma or not. i asked my mom which is a nurse and she said that it isnt but im still skeptical. i keep telling myself its not possible since i only tanned 5 times at a tanning salon, and i tan outside, and im only 15. also my sisters which are both almost 30 tanned so much in their teen years but theres nothing wrong, same with my mom who tanned a lot too. im not goin to the doc N.E.timesoon. anyone has personal experience with M. moles?
