I have a few skin tags that I have had for a few years…they dont really cause me problems but are unsightly. I really do not want to spend the money to go to the doctor if I dont have to…does anyone have a method of removing them at home?

Yes, if you have the motivation, you can remove these at home. Take an ordinary sewing thread, then wrap it around the skin tag (small ones only) a few times tightly, and tie it. You’ll have to wait a week or maybe two, but it will turn very dark and finally fall off. Make sure you only do this to skin tags, never moles.

My mother used to use the thread method of removing her skin tags. I was at the dermatologist yesterday for some other issues but did ask her about removing a tag. She said she didn’t know if insurance would cover it, and that it would cost $117. I’ll either learn to live with it, or get out the sewing kit.
