so i always have had this mole on my elbow and it has never changed, just a small oval brown mole with a little freckle beside it that is the same color. its kind of cute. but the other day it was itchy and i scartched it only a little and i felt that it had a dry bump on it that felt like a scab, it came off and my mole started to bleed. that was 3 days ago and now there is a glossy see through red scab that is raised where the bump was before. and though the itching has stopped i dont know what to make of this?? is it just eczema or something? or should i be getting this looked at for cancer?

If you have a small mole that is cancerous does that always mean that it is pre-cancer or in a stage that does not go past the mole? Do moles have to be big for melanoma to spread? I have a small mole that started growing rapidly and got it cut off for biopsy. Skin cancer runs in the family. Since I just got it cut off, and it wasnt large, am I completely not at risk for melanoma?

do you think moles look good sometimes?

i have one like hers except mine is about an inch and a half higher. i have a few more moles on my face.
do you like them or think they are gross??
also, i used to hate my moles so much i couldn’t look in the mirror without counting all of them but now i don’t really care i kinda even like them.

Of course everyone says wear sunscreen, but I read an article like a year ago that sunscreen could actually increase your risk of getting skin cancer because it prevents some important things from getting absorbed into your skin or whatever it is. Has anyone else heard about this?
